The residents of Rotan lined Main Street last week for the annual Christmas Parade. With almost 20 parade contestants, great food, fun for the kids, and live music for everyone, there was plenty of good tidings to spread around.

The parade was led by the Rotan Yellowhammer Marching Band, and kids cheered and waved as Santa rode by. This year’s parade consisted of some of the best floats seen in town in years with smiling faces of children oohing and aahing between scrambling to fill their pockets with candy.

Many storefronts moved their business to the sidewalks and joined several vendors, caterers, and local artisans from around the region, who were set up with street displays and happy to help you find that perfect item. Hot stew and cornbread was provided by the marching band as part of a fundraising event to help cover the cost of their spring trip.
