Rotan graduate kicks off new opportunity as a college athlete

Gaberial Daniel

While there are no more small-town Friday Night Lights for this 2019 Rotan graduate, there is still an opportunity for time on the gridiron for Gaberial Daniel, who recently signed an offer to play for the Lake Houston Panthers.

Having played football for Rotan all his life, Daniel is most experienced as the Yellowhammer’s starting quarterback and occasional running back. “In six-man, everyone plays a little bit of every position. It really has to be a team effort,” said Daniel.

Wanting to stay close to home and support his youngest sister, Ana, through her freshman year of high school, Daniel enrolled at Western Texas College in Snyder. After his first year at WTC, Gaberial and his girlfriend, Faith, decided to move to Columbus, TX, where he had hopes as a walk-on at Blinn University.
