The Coyote Store Welcomes All

Family Fun, Food & Entertainment in Gail, Texas

If you turn onto Hwy 180 and drive toward the horizon, sooner or later you will pass through the tiny little community of Gail Texas. Population 236. Nestled in the center of this little town is a place called the Coyote Store Cafe, and inside beats the heart of tradition, family values, and music.

Although you may walk through the doors a road weary stranger looking for a bite to eat, you’re going to leave family. Cafe owner, Becky Lewis will make sure of that. And while it may look like a simple little roadside cafe in the middle of nowhere, some of the biggest names in the classic country music scene call this place their home away from home.

For children of all ages

There is something magical about a circus. The smell of peanuts, the honk of a clown’s horn, the oohs and aahs of the crowd on the edge of their seat, the roar of a lion, and the sensation of cotton candy melting on your tongue is enough to make anyone eight years old again.

“We offer an opportunity for people to depart from their daily toil, for one moment,” said Matt Margucci, the musical composer for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus.

Fisher county senior citizens

Just in case someone out there does not know, the Fisher County Senior Citizens Center is located on Highway 70 just south of the Fisher County Hospital. It is the place to be on the last Friday of every month, as the Texas High Band is usually on schedule to play for a couple of hours before lunch. On February 24, 2017 the band was joined by Betty Joy Vaught, who sings with them often.

She sang several well known golden oldies and did a wonderful job on every song, bringing back memories and setting every toe to tapping. (Think: "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter").
