Milton Frank Gardner January 18, 1925 - February 2, 2018

A Celebration of Life for Milton Franklin Gardner will held at Friendly Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas on Friday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m. , under direction of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler. Visitation will be held at Friendly on Thursday, February 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Milton Gardner was born in Swenson, Texas on January 18, 1925 to Effie Mae and Ward Gardner. He was the youngest of three sons. After high school, he served as a Navy pilot for two years during WWII. Milton went to Hardin Simmons University and completed his Master’s Degree in Economics. He taught at Texas Wesleyan College while attending Seminary at Southwestern in Ft. Worth, Texas. Milton pastored at Friendly Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas from 1963-1991, 28 years, as well as served as interim at over 12 churches after retiring from full time pastorate.

Londa Branson February 25, 1937 - January 31, 2018

Londa Branson, 80, of Roby passed away January 31, 2018, in Weatherford. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Roby First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2018, from 6pm until 8pm, at Weathersbee- Ray Funeral Home. Londa Bea Stuart Branson was born February 25, 1937 in Roby, to Leonard Luveal (Chine) Stuart and Londa Pearl (Coney) Stuart. Londa was a 1955 graduate of Roby High School. She was a natural athlete and loved playing high school basketball. She married the love of her life, John Branson, on April 10, 1954 in Roscoe, TX. Family was the most important thing in Londa’s life; she was their rock and refuge. Londa was a naturally shy and modest person but her caring and compassionate nature always came to the forefront to help anyone in need. Londa was an unselfish and generous woman and saw that the needs of others were always met before her own.

Ralph Dono Terry June 30, 1922 - January 22, 2018

Ralph Dono Terry, 95, of Roby passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in Waxahachie, TX. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Roby Church of Christ, in Roby, TX. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is set for Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan, from 6pm-7pm. Ralph Dono Terry was born June 30, 1922 in Fisher County, TX to Pink Thomas Terry and Orpha Abigale (Stuart) Terry. Dono left home to join the Army Air Core in 1942 and bravely served his county as a B-25 mechanic until the end of WWII in 1945. He was stationed in Enid, Oklahoma and achieved the rank of Sargent. He married the love of his life, Lois Irene Nichols, on April 8, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma. After the war, Dono and his family returned to Fisher County where he began farming on his family farm; except for 6 months in 1953 when he and his family moved due to the severe drought.

Tyrus (Tye) Harrison August 15, 1929 - January 14, 2018

Tyrus (Tye) Harrison, 88 of Rotan passed away January 14, 2018 at a hospital in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Rotan with Tommy Rosenblad officiating. Burial will be at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the funeral home. Born August 15, 1929 in a threeroom farm laborer’s house on the Schick Farm west of Rotan in Fisher County, Texas, Tye was the son of Robert L. and Jewell (Coan) Harrison. Tye graduated from Rotan High School in December, 1946. Tye married Laverne Jenkins on February 6,1948 in Rotan. Tye started work with Gold Building Products in 1947 and stayed with the National Gypsum Company for 47½ years. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Rotan where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Lions Club.

Juanita Jasso Gaona May 27, 1934 - January 13, 2018

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3 Juanita Jasso Gaona was welcomed into her heavenly home on January 14, 2018. Affectionately called “Janie” by her siblings and “Mimi” by her grandchildren, Juanita lived life to the fullest and always showed a deep love for God, her family, and her friends. Born in Austwell, Texas on May 27, 1934, Juanita was the sixth of eight children. She grew up in South Texas travelling with her family who were migrant workers. As a child, Juanita attended school until the eighth grade, when she began working to help support the family.

Laura Elizabeth “Beth” Faught November 3, 1932 - January 10, 2018

Laura Elizabeth “Beth” Faught passed away peacefully on January 10, 2018. She was born November 3, 1932 to Robert Lester and Mattie Leigh Gartman. Beth was married to the love of her life, Howard Faught. She was the best mother, wife, daughter and friend anyone could ever hope to know and she will be missed so much by all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her brother Robert Gartman and her parents. She is survived by her children, Rick and Sarah Faught of Montgomery, Texas, Kim and Dennis Minks of Austin, Texas and her grandsons, Joel and Jake Redden of Austin and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, January 12th. Graveside services will be held at the McCauley cemetery at 11:00 am Saturday, January 13th with a Celebration of Life to follow at the First Baptist Church in Roby, Texas.

Joe Albert Perales October 5, 1948 - January 5, 2018

Joe A. Perales passed into his heavenly home on Friday, January 5, 2018 with Susan, his family, and friends at his side. Heaven received a good man with a good heart and those who knew and loved him will forever miss his presence in their lives. Joe lived life to the fullest, enjoying the smallest joys in every day. His many many friends were of every age and from every situation in life. A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the home of Susan and Joe Perales. 4950 FM 610 Rotan, Texas 79546 (10 miles west of Aspermont, Texas) Directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Wear your boots and bring your lawn chairs. Joe’s great joys were Susan, grandkids, his family and friends, and his life-long love of horses. Joe’s life was one fun adventure after another, always involving horses. Horses put him in the paths of people who became friends and family, who he never lost touch with, and loved until the end.
