Justin Moffett February 17, 1979 - December 18, 2017

Justin Moffett, 38, of Shallowater, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 in Shallowater. A memorial service is for 10am, Friday, December 22, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Rotan, TX. Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home of Rotan is in charge of arrangements. Justin Earl Moffett was born February 17, 1979 in Rotan, TX, to Jerry Lynn and Donna Kay (Tucker) Moffett. Justin’s wife, Candas, and his children were the loves of his life; he lived for them. He loved to take his boys hunting, and coaching them in their favorite sports. Justin also loved his nieces and nephews dearly. He loved being the “favorite uncle”, however that title has been disputed by his brothers. Justin was a gifted salesman and could sell a wet paper bag. Justin loved his family and friends and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help them; he would give any one of them the shirt off his back. He was an outdoorsmen; he loved being outside, hunting, fishing, and grilling out.

Maria Flores August 12, 1933 - December 2, 2017

Maria Flores, 84, died December 2, 2017. Her funeral service will he held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in El Ranchito at 10:00 am. Rosary will be on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel at 6:30 pm. Burial will be at the EL Ranchito Cemetery. Mrs. Flores was born on August 12, 1933 in Gregory, Texas to Guadalupe and Manuela Flores. She was born a fraternal twin to her brother Jesus (Chuy) Flores. She married Domingo R. Flores on December 18, 1951. She was a homemaker for 65 years and raises eleven children. She will be remembered for always being in the kitchen. Tortillas and beans were her favorite. Maria was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosa Cazares. Maria is survived by her husband, Domingo R.

Lawrence Hindes April 6, 1932 - November 27, 2017

Lawrence Hindes, 85, of Rotan, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, in Sweetwater. A memorial mass service is scheduled for 10am, Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan. A rosary service will be held 7pm, Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan. Lawrence Edward Hindes was born April 6, 1932, in Merrill, WI to Chauncey and Helen Marie (Knudson) Hindes. He enlisted in the Air Force, and served 20 years; retiring as a Major; he served as a navigator/bombardier on the B-52 bombers. It is quite an accomplishment for an enlisted man to retire as a full commissioned officer. Lawrence received his Bachelor’s degree from UTEP. He met the love of his life, Rosemary Brininstool, in Roswell, NM, on a blind date. The two later married in Roswell on January 9, 1960. Lawrence had many interests; one of his greatest joys was taking his grandchildren fishing. Later in his life, he began doing woodworking and became quite skilled.

Thomas Almanza, Sr. March 7, 1953 - October 23, 2017

Thomas Almanza, Sr. 64, of Mineral Wells, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 in Ft. Worth. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home from 6-8pm; the rosary service will begin at 6pm. Thomas R. Almanza, Sr. was born March 7, 1953 in Rotan to parents, Serapio and Otila (Ramon) Almanza. Thomas loved playing bingo and scratch off lottery tickets. He enjoyed spending time outside barbecuing and singing with his friends and family. Thomas was a hard worker and held various jobs throughout his life. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Serapio and Otila; his son, Raymond; his brothers, Gustavo, Ysbel, and George; his sisters, Juana and Chona; and his sister-in-law, Lupe.

Susan Kaye Martin

January 13, 1981 - September 15, 2017

Susan loved her parents, who are both extremely proud of ho: Susan was always very generous with her money and her time. She loved animals and had a special love for dogs and cats. She vvas a great high school athlete and won many awards for track and field. Sman and her sister Stephanie, were very close and were always together. Susan always tooh care of her younger sister, Stephanie - holding her hand when she was learning to walh, and being her best friend as they grew into adults together. Susan earned an Associates Degree from Cisco Junior College. Susan was cm active duty Recruiter for the National Guard when she passed. She became a recruiter after her ten month tour in Afghanistan. Susan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Geraldine Massey, and Simon and Florencia Barrera. She is survived by her parents, William and Lala Massey; aunts, uncles, comins, and many friends.

Stefanie was a very intelligent girl. She loved her parents, who are both extremely proud of her Stefanie was always very generous with her money and her time. She joined the National Guard in March 2016 and became a Human Intelligence Col1ector in June 2016, where she finished 2nd in her class. Stefanie 1s preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Geraldine Massey, and Simon and Florencia Barrera. She is survived by her parents, William and Lala Massey; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Donna Martinez December 7, 1964 - October 23, 2017

(ROTAN) Donna Martinez, 52, of Rotan passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at home surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, October 27, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, in Rotan. Donna Robertine Martinez was born in Rotan, on December 7, 1964, to her parents, Cruz Martinez and Grable Trejo Martinez. She graduated from Rotan High School in 1983. Donna was the proud mother of Heather, Kristina, Mark (Eric), & her chihuahua, Princess. Her main priority was always her children. She was employed by Richeson Dairy Queen for 27 years with 12 of those years as being the manager. She gave her all to her job in order to be one of the best stores around. Donna was a member of Golden Streams Ministry Church in Sweetwater where she rededicated her life to the Lord. Things she loved the most were her children, family, friends, Curtis Ward’s church sermons, the DQ customers, & shopping.
