"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
— John F. Kennedy
I hope this quote reminds us to honor veterans not just through words, but by actively supporting and appreciating their sacrifices.
Honoring veterans means recognizing not only their bravery on distant battlefields but also the silent struggles they endure long after they return home. They often fight unseen battles—emotional wounds, memories that haunt, and challenges in readjusting to civilian life—that we cannot fully comprehend.
Extending grace to them involves offering patience, understanding, and unwavering support as they navigate these hardships. It's about listening without judgment and being there in their moments of need. By showing compassion and respect, we acknowledge their sacrifices and help ease the burdens they continue to carry, fostering a community where they can heal and thrive. It is my hope that a couple of local Veterans can also extend this grace to each other.
