Annamae Angus Arnette passed away November 14, 2022, in Weatherford, Texas. She was the daughter of Arthur Franklin Brown and Margaret Gossett Brown. She attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Eastern New Mexico State University. She married Norman Arnette in 1948. His career as a band director led them from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Spur, Tatum, Springer and finally Knox City, Texas. They resided in Rotan from 1970 to 2012 where she was a housewife and mother to her family. While in Rotan, she founded the Fisher County Library in the old hospital.

Annamae was a beautiful vocalist and loved to sing in church and participate the Easter cantatas. She also was a talented artist and loved to cook and preserve vegetables. She won many blue ribbons at the County Fairs for her artwork and canning.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Arnette and son John Arthur Arnette. Annamae is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth of Weatherford, Texas; and son, Dr. George B Arnette of Sandia Park, New Mexico. She is also survived by two granddaughters, two grandsons, five great-grandchildren, eight nieces and four nephews.
