Doris Mae Rector, 92, of Yorktown, TX, passed away on January 6th, 2023, in Corpus Christi, TX, after a short illness. Born June 17, 1930, in Roby, TX, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James H. Rector of Yorktown, TX; brother Dave Weeks of Midland, TX; daughter Chrys (Rector) Bennett of Rotan, TX; and grandson Jacob Rector of San Antonio, TX.
Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, quilting, crocheting and playing games. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yorktown where she loved attending church services and Sunday school. Doris was a loving wife, mother, Grandma, aunt, cousin and so much more; her family and friends were truly blessed to have her and will forever miss her lively laugh and beautiful soul that she shared with all who knew her.
Survivors include her sons James H. (Sonny) Rector, Jr. (Betsy) of Rockwall, TX, and Rodger Rector (Becky) of Ingleside on the Bay, TX; daughter Robin Goen (Jesse) of Flour Bluff, TX; son-in-law Marshal Bennett of Rotan, TX; granddaughters Shanna Bennett of Rotan, TX; Amy Garland (Jamey) of Rotan, TX; Elisa Gilp (Corey) of Corpus Christi, TX; Brandy McCuiston of Ingleside on the Bay, TX; Stephanie Glaze-Ullman of Ingleside, TX; and Cassidy Jenkins of Austin, TX; grandsons Robby and Ryan Rector of Dallas, TX; Cory Spiegelhoff (Christina) of Ingleside, TX; and Casey Spiegelhoff (Rachael) of Clayton, NC; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial services to be held in Yorktown, TX, at a date and time yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Yorktown, TX, or to a foundation of your choice.
