Sharla Vanette Thompson Brown 68, of Roby, TX. passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Longworth Cemetery with Aaron Solis officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
She was born March 21, 1954 in Sweetwater to Bobby Fred and Dortha Louise (Rasco) Thompson. Sharla was a lifelong resident of Fisher County. Sharla was a graduate of Roby High School in 1972 where she served as the Roby Lion mascot. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Sharla was a worker and supporter of all family businesses and served to produce growing and sales for Scherwitz Farms.
She is survived by her daughter Danelle Davis and husband Shawn of Sweetwater; sons Micah Evans and wife Melissa of Roby, Lance Evans and wife Victoria of Palava; sisters Sheree Hartman of Roby, Shelly Scherwitz and husband Terry of Palava; brothers Shelby Thompson and Shannon of Ruidoso, NM., Shalon Thompson of Cherokee, TX.; father Bobby Thompson of Roby; grandchildren Alyssa, Makenzie, Kaden, Carson, Seth, Daniel, Kaden, Colton, Kolby, Allie, Ryan and Robert and great grandchildren Kyston and Krew.
She is preceded in death by her mother Dortha on March 17, 1997.
