The shortest answer to this question is: “Yes.”
Fisher County Sheriff Randy Ford confirmed the department had issued several citations for excessive yard debris to property owners found in violation of city ordinances earlier this year. Several of those cases have appeared before Fisher County JP Angie Pippin and are in various stages of the judicial process.
“The goal is to get people to clean up their property, not punish our residents,” said Ford, who explained there are several options available for those who have received citations.
Ford said after this initial sweep, violators need to be given time to bring the property into compliance.
He said that the department will likely begin issuing additional citations in the upcoming months when residents typically engage in spring cleaning efforts.
