The Aspermont City Council voted to stop accepting metal material at the city’s convenience station after two loads of scrap metal were rejected from the salvage yard after testing positive for radiation contamination. Officials plan to mitigate the current issue and will be looking to implement new policies and procedures before re-opening the facility for scrap metal disposal.
