Electronic giant Samsung announced last week that it will build a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in the Central Texas town of Taylor, about 40 miles northeast of Austin.

I hope everyone had a great blessed Thanksgiving: I sure did. My sister-in-law, Billie Sue and husband, Charles Day came for the day from Decater, my daughter and husband, Gerral Waldon, that live here behind me were here. With 3 of us cooking we sure had lots to eat.

Representatives from the National Gypsum Plant in Rotan handed over a $35,000 check to administrators at Rotan ISD earlier this week as part of the international Giving Tuesday, funds that will be used to further the district’s career and technical education programs.
