Although not required to commence in-person proceedings, Texas courts choosing to do so must submit a plan for conducting proceedings — including jury trials — and part of the plan is to designate an alternative location to provide social distancing during jury selection.

Local stock shows begin this weekend

There will be two local stock shows to choose from this weekend, as the Stonewall County Stock Show, as well as Rotan’s local show will soon begin preparations with organizers putting extra effort into providing for the health and safety of both exhibitors and spectators.

David Spiller, a Republican candidate from Jacksboro, made stops in Fisher and Stonewall counties on Tuesday, getting in some early campaigning before early voting begins on Monday to fill the vacancy for a representative from Texas House District 68.
