USDA Reminds Producers of Disaster Assistance Application Deadline

WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2020 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reminds producers that the deadline to submit applications for disaster recovery assistance through the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+) for 2018 and 2019 losses is Friday, Oct. 30.

Well, I thought it was going to be a pretty day and we could get things done before the cold wind hit, surprise, it came in before the day was half gone. It did not take long before it got really cold. So now it's suppose to sleet, we sure do need the moisture, but ice and sleet, we don't need.

Aspermont and Rotan “club it out” in the 7th Annual Brazos Cup

The 7th Annual Brazos Cup was played on October 10-11 between the Rotan Golf Club and the Aspermont Golf Club, with Rotan holding onto the cup for the next year. The Brazos Cup is a team event boasting the 12 best golfers from each club going at it over the grueling two-day, 54-hole event.

Autumn freeze sweeps across Double Mountain Area

Temperatures began to drop on Monday, bringing sleet and freezing rain by evening hours, and Tuesday morning commuters faced a slow drive on sheets of ice. Projections show that precipitation would clear off by mid-week and temperatures are expected to swing back up to near 70º by Saturday.
