WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2020 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reminds producers that the deadline to submit applications for disaster recovery assistance through the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+) for 2018 and 2019 losses is Friday, Oct. 30.

More than $7 Billion Paid in Second Round of USDA Coronavirus Food Assistance Program

(Washington, D.C., Oct. 26, 2020) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced that in the first month of the application period, the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) approved more than $7 billion in payments to producers in the second round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

Autumn freeze sweeps across Double Mountain Area

Temperatures began to drop on Monday, bringing sleet and freezing rain by evening hours, and Tuesday morning commuters faced a slow drive on sheets of ice. Projections show that precipitation would clear off by mid-week and temperatures are expected to swing back up to near 70º by Saturday.
