The Aspermont Lady Hornets hosted a district basketball match up against the Rule Bobcats on Jan. 15th. Unfortunately, Rule had only 7 uniformed athletes to play against the Lady Hornet basketball team of 11 that has been playoff bound for several years.

On Jan. 18th, the Knox City Greyhounds hosted the Roby Lions varsity boys and girls basketball teams for a district match-up. The Lady Lions easily overtook the Lady Greyhounds in a runaway victory session winning 65-19.

The Lady Hammers had their second matchup with Roby on January 15. After trailing 0-8 at the end of the first period, the Lady Hammers were defeated by Roby by a final score of 20-67 in Roby.

The Roby Lions started their district with a win against the Lueders-Avoca Raiders 57- 17. Braxton Coker led the Lions in scoring 21 points, Eric Ragan 11, Jake Byers 10, Tyler Stewart 8, Brennan Faucett 3, Drew Carreon and Ethan Hernandez both contributed two points.

The Aspermont Lady Hornets hosted a basketball game against the Hawley Lady Cats on Jan. 9th. In the first quarter, the score stayed relatively close between the two teams. Sadie and Celie Gentry stepped on court and both quickly drained impressive 3 pointers.
