“Newspapers are dead,” a solemn but dubious audience of students heard. “In 10 years, they’ll be gone altogether.” We’ve all heard the grim assessment. But it didn’t come this year, when corporate greed downsized far too many newsrooms.

District competition begins this week

Sports teams across the Double Mountains are gearing up for battle with district competitions starting up this week, and the stakes are high moving toward the ultimate goal of state champions.

Stonewall Memorial hosts Health Fair next week

The Stonewall Memorial Hospital District will be hosting a free community health fair next Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Community Center in Aspermont. There will be food, gifts, prizes, and screenings and flu shots will be available.
