Letter to the Editor I grew up in a small community of approximately 11,000 people, where everyone knew one another and looked out for one another, much like the friendships and relationships that exist in Roby and Rotan. We took pride in our community, fighting for what was right and just.

My congratulations to commissioners Evans and Martin for going through the budget line by line to find enough money to keep the jail open. My thanks to both.My thanks to commissioner Evans for explaining where the $8.6 million in surplus funds is allocated.

My fellow citizens, Finally the truth comes out. Judge Holt and the commissioners are going to close the jail like they have always wanted.It has nothing to do with the county not having the money.There is money to pay off the debt owed on the jail.
