Some Republic Service customers — like the one shown above located west of Rotan — have not been emptied in over six weeks. KWS was sold to Republic in late 2020.
Public officials across numerous cities are receiving considerably higher levels of complaints about trash collections than usual, with some customers reporting not having trash picked up in six weeks. According to officials, Republic Services trucks have frequent breakdowns, drivers who are unfamiliar with routes, and overflowing dumpsters are creating other problems.
