Although not official until Thursday night's board meeting, Stonewall Memorial Hospital District CEO Billie Carter announced her plans for retirement earlier today. She said while it is difficult to say goodbye to a place that feels like home, she is looking forward to retirement and what the future holds.

Carter will continue to serve as CEO until late March. “Although this has not been an easy decision; I am certain it is the right one for me,” wrote Carter in an email to SMH Board of Directors and staff in an email earlier today.
