(CHOCOLATE ITALIAN CREAM CAKE)

1/2 cup butter or margarine

2 cups sugar

5 eggs separated

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup pecans

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup Crisco

2 cups flour

1/2 cup cocoa

1 tsp. soda

1 cup coconut

• Cream margarine, Crisco, and sugar.

• Add yokes one at a time. Sift Flour, cocoa and soda. Add alternately with buttermilk.

• Stir in coconut, vanilla and pecans.

• Fold in beaten egg whites.

• Bake in 3 -8 inch pans at 350 for 30 minutes or …
