1 kg potatoes (about 2 1/2 lbs)
1/2 onion (or more if you like)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon flour
Salt, pepper and nutmeg (all to taste)

Wash and peel the potatoes and onion.
Grate coarsely.
Drain well (a large strainer)
Then mix the potatoes, onion, eggs, flour, salt, pepper and nutmeg well.
