In Loving Memory Ronny Joe Dennis

With heavy hearts we announce Ronny Joe Dennis, 79, of Palava, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, doing what he loved, just one day after cherishing time with his beloved family.

Born on October 30, 1945, in Roby, Texas, to John Aubra T. Dennis and Eva Nell Stuart, Ronny grew up in Sylvester/ Roby, helping his family with farming and attending Roby Schools, where he graduated with the class of 1966. He bled Roby Red until the day he left us.

Known for his big smile, gentle heart and unwavering devotion to his family, Ronny was a proud father to his pride and joy, Kenny Dale Dennis, and an adoring grandfather to Chloe, Angel, Ethan, Layne, Conner, and Nathan Dennis. He treasured every moment with his great-grandchildren, Hudson, Harlow, and Haisley. He was more than a father and grandfather; he was a mentor and a best friend.

After high school, Ronny ran a gas station, later worked for PepsiCola, and spent his later years farming and ranching, where his love for animals and nature shone through. He was very passionate about working outside and around livestock and if you asked him, his biggest achievements in life were becoming a dad and a popaw. His kindness and warmth left a lasting impact on all who knew him, he will forever be missed.

Ronny is survived by his son, Kenny, and his wife, Dawn; his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; his sister, Aubrey Nell Cauble; his brothers, Olen D. Dennis, Larry Dennis, Roy Dennis, and Jeffie Dennis; his lifelong friend and companion, Carol Dennis-Young; and his nephews, Jeff and Kenlee Dennis. Special thanks to Bubba “Vernon Duncan” for his support and friendship.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Eva Nell, his brother, Jimmy “Jimbo” Dennis and his brother-in-law, Keifer Cauble.

A memorial service will be held at Roby Baptist Church on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Ronny.
