On February 7, 2021, Dianna Lynn (Acker) McKinney of Rotan, Texas passed away at the age of 65. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Monte H. McKinney, Sr. “Dihna” was preceded in death by her parents A.D. “Shorty” Acker and Wanda Jean (Simmons) Acker.

Dianna Lynn Acker was born on January 14, 1956 in Rotan, Texas. She married Monte McKinney in 1972 and started a family. During her lifetime she worked various jobs in Fisher County. She loved riding and caring for horses. She was an avid gardener and loved sharing her green thumb and knowledge of plants and flowers with friends and family. After raising her children, Dihna enjoyed the simple life. In addition to tending her garden, she enjoyed her time accompanying her husband hunting deer and trapping wild hogs.

She is survived by three children: Monte McKinney, Jr. and Sarah Shelley of Rotan, Melissa Perales and Todd Jordan of Rotan, and Mandye and Cam Tovias of Amsterdam, NY. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four siblings: Forrest Acker of Stratford, Lisa and Bobby Gomez of Mineral Wells, Gary and Annette Acker of Bronte, and Carol and Brad Boyd of Roby; mother and father-in-law Francene and Murl McKinney of Rotan and numerous nieces and nephews.

In life, she always enjoyed helping people. In passing, her body will be donated to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for anatomical education and research.
