THE CORSICANA LEGEND OF ROPE WALKER

The legend: In 1884 a man with a wooden leg carrying a cast iron cook stove was trying to cross a tightrope stretched between two buildings in downtown Corsicana when he lost his balance and fell, suffering painful injuries. Near death he mentioned he was a Jew.

We are told that life as we know it has been forever changed by the computer. The most complicated equations are solved. We started at a desk, then moved to a mobile laptop. A few years later our phones became computers and now it can be as small as a watch on your wrist. (Calling Dick Tracey?).

I am leading somewhat of a nomadic existence these days. In upcoming columns, I will write more about my next adventure in solitude that has me roaming the U.S. now. For now, my siblings and daughters are giving me options as to where to impose myself, though I try not to overstay any welcome.

What and adventure Joe and I have had since coming to Kentucky, highway 82 was beautiful with primroses, blue bonnets, and red bonnets all along the highway. We got to Arkansas and I was really disappointed usually the roadways are full of flowers and this time they weren't.
