Come and visit with me awhile, let's rest a minute and have a cup of coffee and visit. I'm making fresh apple cakes this morning out of the Arkansas Black Apples we brought back from Kentucky . I made a pie for Thanksgiving and I guess the boys liked it they ate the whole thing!!!!!!

Hurrah we are back in Texas, got here about 3:15 Wednesday afternoon and we were both tired people. We had a good trip, no accidents to stop us, traffic just flowed right along. We spent the night in Texarkana as usual at Baymont, it's our favorite and they always feed Joe a good breakfast!!!!!

The late, great Elmer Kelton is one of my favorite authors of fiction, Kelton had a unique ability to write realistic stories with characters who were eminently relatable. Kelton has an underrated novel called “Honor at Daybreak” about the 1920s oil boomtowns of West Texas.
