Stonewall residents pay it forward this Christmas season

A group of Stonewall residents put their tools and skills to work over the holidays, heading to the Stonewall County House in the Houses 4 Healing in Abilene, lending a hand to further a mission that helps people in need when they need it most.

Delivering a truck full of Christmas cheer

As the final preparations were being made at the North Pole gearing up for Santa’s Christmas Eve flight, a little further south in Texas, Santa’s Helpers and other friends were putting a few extra miles on their trucks, making deliveries across the state.
Hunters from across the region turned out for the inaugural Big Country Hog Contest this month. The grand prize weight for the December hunt was $280.5 lbs with the winner taking $3,000 in prize money. Runners up earned $1,500 with $1,000 going to 3rd place.

The Big Country Hog Contest recently held its inaugural event this month, hosting hundreds of shooters from across the region, claiming over 400 wild hogs, and raising roughly $2,000 to be used for upcoming events.
