VALUING PROPERTY Fisher County Appraisal District determines the value of all taxable property within the county. Before the appraisals begin, the district compiles a list of taxable property. The listing for each property contains a description and the name and address of the owner.

Stonewall escapee captured after police surround home

After more than six weeks on the run after escaping from the Stonewall County Jail in November, a multiagency team arrested Jeremy Lynn Trevino at a Jayton residence last week. A second individual, Juan Hernandez of Jayton, was also arrested and charged with hindering Trevino’s apprehension.

The Davis Family grew by two this week, where during an adoption proceeding that was joined by several friends and family on Tuesday, Judge David Hall said he was pleased to announce that Jahzlyn Belle and Acelyn Asteria are officially part of the Sherrie Davis family.

The Aspermont City Council met just before the new year, where one of the points of discussion was an ongoing struggle with stray animals, and while the council took no action in December, the council will likely hear more about options for mitigating the issue when it meets later this month.
