Prescribed fire grant applications for Texas Plains region now open

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M Forest Service is now accepting grant applications for the State Fire Assistance for Mitigation - Plains Prescribed Fire Grant through August 15th, 2023. The grant will provide nearly $92,000 in funding for prescribed burns.

Repair work planned for Roby Ave. in Rotan

Last week, local resident Tanner Park proposed a plan to the Rotan City Council aimed at repairing and rebuilding Roby Ave., which runs along the eastern edge of the City of Rotan. The proposition comes as a response to the deterioration and narrowing of the unpaved street over the years.
