TEA annual report just released

The Texas Education Agency’s annual report was released last week. It indicates per-student funding in the 2021-2022 school year averaged $14,928 per student, up 42% since 2011. However, state funding has only risen slightly in the past decade, while local funding has increased substantially.

Secret Simon Dear Editor, Thank you, Mr. Hurt, for getting to the truth of Secret Simon’s real reason for an expensive and unnecessary animal control program. I know he lived in McCaulley, and thus Rotan and Roby city ordinances would not help him. I did not know of the loose dogs in McCaulley.

While recent headlines, whether national news or those within the pages of this little-newspaper-that-could, often are the dramatic reflections of human life, it is nice to have opportunities where we’re reminded how it also takes great strength to avoid taking oneself too seriously.

Okay, we get it. Randy Ford, who resigned from the position, doesn't like the new sheriff. But Mr. Ford DID resign. So why is he still trying to dictate what happens from the sheriff's office and position? I might have believed he wanted to express his opinion, once. But publicly, week after week.
