Rotan ISD cancels November Election and appoints new board member

The Rotan ISD Board of Trustees approved in a 6 – 0 vote to adopt a resolution that would cancel the upcoming November Election for the district and were equally unanimous in their decision to appoint Matt Preston to fill the remaining one-year term.

Roby CISD to discuss second wind agreement

The Roby CISD Board of Trustees met earlier this month, learning the Texas Comptroller accepted the recent application for a Chapter 313 agreement the board approved in May, and negotiations with the company will likely be moving fast to meet the deadline, as the bill sunsets this December.

Industrial hemp field program set for Sept. 28 in Lubbock

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is offering an industrial hemp field plot meeting for West Texas industrial hemp growers on Sept. 28. The event will be from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Lubbock, 1102 East Drew St.

Anson & Dorthy May Martin will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on September 27, 2022. They met in Sweetwater, Texas, and married on September 27, 1947, in Rotan, Texas, after only knowing each other for three months. They raised five children – Karin, Linda, Carl, Richard & Michael.
