Stonewall Court stalls on communication agreement

The Stonewall County officials received an update on Monday, making the future of communication across the county uncertain, but with multiple options on the table, officials are trying to determine which one will be most cost-effective in the long term.

City of Rotan seeks municipal court judge

The Rotan City Council gave the go-ahead early this month to begin a search for a municipal judge looking to enforce the city’s updated animal control laws adopted in July. Until a judge can be seated, the council agreed to continue improving the infrastructure for better animal control operations.

Ken Paxton has been reinstated as Texas Attorney General after the Texas Senate on Saturday acquitted him of charges of bribery and misuse of office.

Boll weevil eradication most successful pest insect elimination program

Boll weevils plagued the cotton industry throughout much of the Cotton Belt for almost a century before entomologists and producers executed one of the most successful pest eradication programs in the U.S. Texas cotton producers have waged a 30-year campaign against the boll weevil.
