Fisher County Sheriff Simon Wade confirmed on Monday that he decided to depopulate the Fisher County Jail on Friday, August 18, due to staffing concerns and officer safety after two employees were placed on administrative leave.

Local game ranch manager and his legal counsel spoke to Fisher County Commissioners last week, seeking repair work on a controversial stretch of road in the northwestern portion of the county.

Another week has gone by and still no change in the temp and no rain. There was a cloud and some folks got some rain but none here. I am glad some folks got rain atleast we know it can rain in August, but it would be nice to get mud on the feet again.

Forecasters for the National Weather Service are anticipating a more active hurricane season this year because of record-warm ocean surface temperatures, the Texas Tribune reported. Hurricane season runs through the end of November.
