The Texas A&M Forest Service raised the State Wildfire Preparedness Level to Level 4 — on a 1-5 scale — in response to a surge in wildfire activity across the state due to this week’s weather forecast.

Meet the Hornet & Meet the Lions coming up

Monday August 14th Aspermont ISD is hosting Meet the Hornets at 7pm following the Elementary Open Meet the Teachers which will start at 6pm. The Roby Athletic Booster Club announced that the Meet the Lions will be Tuesday August 15th at 7:30pm after meet the teachers.

The Fisher County Rodeo Association is set to host an electrifying prelims mutton bustin' competition, aiming to provide more young riders a chance to shine in the upcoming rodeo later this month. The event is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Fisher County Rodeo Arena.

There were 22 members and guests at the Fisher County Historical Commission's monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 1st. A short business meeting preceded the program wherein the CR 309 Bridge, a memorial, an upcoming parade, and future presentations were discussed.

Fisher County Lions Club provide disaster relief assistance

Texas Lions Foundation has awarded the Fisher County Lions Clubs a $3,000 disaster relief grant to help provide roll-off dumpsters around Rotan used for clean-up following the wrath of the June 21st supercell storm.
