Fatal oilfield accident claimed life of Aspermont man

In the early evening hours on Tuesday, emergency personnel was dispatched to the scene of an oilfield accident west of Rotan, where an Aspermont man was tragically killed while working on an oil platform around the community of Hobbs.

Gonzales pleads guilty and judge grants Stuart a change of venue

The 32 Judicial District Court convened on Wednesday, where District Judge Glen Harrison accepted a guilty plea from Christopher Gonzales on charges associated with a home invasion and assaults in February.

Fisher County Sheriff swears in new deputy

Fisher County Sheriff Randy Ford swore in his newest deputy last Friday, rounding out the department’s roster. Fisher County Deputy Erick Reynolds took his oath early on August 27. Reynolds spent 20 years in the USAF — much of which at Dyess — before retiring at Lackland AFB.
