Roby's Samarra Frausto goes up for the ball to make a quick out during the Lady Lions 21-15 win over the Baird Lady Bears Tuesday afternoon in Roby. The Lady Lions found themselves in a back and forth with the Lady Bears through 4 innings. From the 5th inning onward, the Lady Lions locked in, scoring 11 runs, whilst holding Baird to just 3 to finish on top. The Lady Lions will next host Knox City this Saturday at 10am in Roby. Roby senior Calie Hernandez competed at the THSWPA Regional Powerlifting Meet in Big Spring last Thursday. She would go on to finish 2nd overall in the 220 weight class with a weight total of 760 pounds through all events, securing her a spot at the Texas High School Women's Powerlifting State Championships at Bert Odgen Arena in Edinburg, TX. She will compete during the 1A-2A portion on Wednesday, March 12th starting at 8am. Courtesy Photo.
