My salute to summer

I was born ten days before the official start of summer, but have always considered myself to have a summer birthday. Anyway I consider it the best season. It is a season of joy. It really is when the living is easy. You set a golf ball in motion and hope for a hole in one.

Patrick issues gag order ahead of trial

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick last week issued a sweeping gag order ahead of the impeachment trial of suspended Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Houston Chronicle reported, saying “out-of-court statements” by both sides threaten to jeopardize the trial. The trial is set to begin Sept. 5.
