CHECK YOUR MIRRORS

“Pearl, you are closer to heaven,” said my granddaughter Lillie when I told her how old I was on my birthday March 13. Lillie is five but quite the philosopher. With those six words, she pretty much sums up the optimistic attitude I should have at this point in life.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor: On February 26, 2021, I read in your newspaper, Kid Scoop's weekly article directed toward the youth audience showcasing yoga. As a child in Texas Public Schools in the 1970's, I did not receive yoga training. Personally, I do not support any sort of yoga.

Faces & Places

EVERYBODY DOESN'T THINK LIKE I DO

I have come to realize that I grew up in a perceived time of innocence. In my growing up years in Waco, I pulled my wagon around to houses in the neighborhood, collecting old worn out pots, pans and anything else made of any type of metal that might be used in the war effort.
