SOME WORDS ABOUT WINTER

I don’t like winter. I don’t like being cold. My fingernails turn blue as soon as the temperature falls below 40 degrees. My energy level falls and all I want to do is curl up in a warm room and read a book. Consequently, we rarely vacationed in cold climates when our children were growing up.

Things are quiet in Aspermont, Texas, this morning. Snow and sleet are everywhere. The restaurant behind our house is open, but there are not very many eating breakfast this morning. It started out as sleet and ice, then it started snowing, so everyone is housebound.

Oh boy, it sure was cold this morning and I just don’t like cold weather. I try to think of weather in July and August when it is so cold. Hot weather thoughts make it seem warmer. Need to pray for rain. It is so dry, too much dirt and germs in the air.

It’s a good thing Joe and I repotted my flowers Monday and then worked outside in the garden the rest of the day, because the rest of the week has not been good. He has been trying to get a clothesline out of the dirt. His peach tree is growing around it.

Oh what a beautiful day. Makes one want to go out and get a sunbath and get some of that warm sunshine. It finally got cold, but we did not get any rain. I heard it thunder one time and I was waiting for it to start to rain, but I just heard a few drops.
