Abbott, House deadlocked over school choice, teacher pay

Gov. Gregg Abbott and the Texas House are at loggerheads over which will come first – vouchers for parents to pay for private school tuition, or funneling more money to public schools, The Dallas Morning News reported.
At the District XC meet in Rotan earlier last month, Lady Lion senior runner Hailee Garmer leads the pack followed close behind by fellow senior teammate Chasity Benson. Benson would eventually overtake Garmer to place 1st overall, while Garmer finished 3rd. At the Regional meet in San Angelo, Garmer would turn the tables and take 1st place overall, with Benson finishing 2nd. Rotan ISD superintendent interviews begin next week

The Rotan ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday night for the first time since approving consulting services to assist with the superintendent search. After three hours behind closed doors, trustees narrowed the list of potential candidates with formal interviews starting as early as next week.
