Long-standing Rotan ISD Superintendent Greg Decker surprised trustees and members of the public Monday night, where after a brief closed-door meeting, he announced his formal resignation, effective December 31.

Stonewall officials agree to expand county cemetery

The Stonewall Commissioners agreed to expand the county’s cemetery grounds last week, which should open up several requested plots, however, details for how the county will proceed, including the possibility of pricing adjustments will be discussed in the weeks to come.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Beef Cattle Conference for Nolan and Fisher counties will be held Sept. 19 in Rotan. The conference will be at the Rolling Plains Quail Research Ranch, 1262 U.S. Highway 180. The event will start with on-site registration at 9:15 a.m.

Wildlife Field Day set for Friday, October 6

A “Wildlife Field Day” will be held at the Ribelin Ranch in Stonewall County on Friday, October 6 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The Ribelin Ranch is located 3 miles East of Aspermont, TX towards Stamford on US HWY 380. Dr.

The Fisher County Historical Commission met September 5th in Roby with 12 attendees. In their opening business meeting it was decided to open the museum during the Roby Homecoming Parade from 4-6, with Dot Harris and Zenita Gardner volunteering to man the museum.
