The Nomadic Newspaper goes on a mission trip to Guatemala

Wayne Jones along with his son Josh Jones and the DMC went on a mission trip last week to Guatamela. They were in a group from First Baptist Church, Stigler, OK and the trip was organized by E3 Volunteers (Equip, engage, Empower). They were in the community of Agua Zarca.

Does anyone remember the name of this gas station? We believe it use to be located where Rotan's Dairy Queen now sits due to the Hogsett Chevrolet building in the background. If you have any information please give us a call and we will update our readers in the next edition.

Three arrested in deaths of 53 migrants

Three people were arrested last week by federal authorities in connection with a human smuggling incident that left 53 migrants dead. The migrants were discovered inside a tractor-trailer on San Antonio’s Southwest Side, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

I hope everyone is having a great fourth of July, the last of the fun days. Congratulations to all that won prizes at the TCR this year. Lot of excitement and fun over for another year. It was a little cooler over the rodeo time. It seems to help when the wind blows from the east. Pray for rain.

Texans face skyrocketing home energy bills as the state exports more natural gas than ever

Texans are seeing skyrocketing home electric bills this spring and summer, with many customers paying at least 50% more than they did for electric bills at this time last year. And nobody seems to know when costs will go down.
