Fisher Sheriff warns of rabies in dogs

The Fisher County Sheriff’s Department announced earlier this week there were known cases of rabies in the county and that due to lack of training and equipment, deputies would no longer respond to dog calls unless animals pose a direct threat.

Fire sweeps through Rotan home

Emergency crews were called to a house fire west of Rotan last week, where firefighters battled the windswept blaze that devastated the home. The homeowner, who was asleep at the time, escaped with no injuries.
