CITY OF ROTAN TIGHTENS PUBLIC COMMENT RULES

Rotan City officials adopted new public comment rules last month, designed to streamline meetings while still allowing residents to speak. The changes, set a three minute time limit for speakers, require a signup sheet, and prohibit insulting language.

Last Wednesday, Rotan’s own Glenn Copeland, 87, one of my favorite guys, rolled up to the Double Mountain Chronicle office.I never know what he’s bringing when he walks through that door. Sometimes it’s news. Sometimes it’s a joke. This time, he came with both a story and a tale.

Dear Savvy Senior, My husband and I are relocating to a nearby state to be closer to our daughter and will need to find a new primary care physician when we arrive. We are both in our late 70s and are interested in getting a geriatrician to oversee our health care going forward.
