The Aspermont City Council is rethinking its code enforcement strategy after recent legislative changes forced the end of the city’s long-running contract arrangement with Texas Communities Group (TCG).

City workers went literally “below and beyond” — including water crew member Kevin Cryer, who had to dive into the trench to ensure all inflow valves were shut off. After draining the tower, crew members toweled off and resumed checking the more than 2,000 city water meters across the system.
