The Hammers got into a shootout early on as Rotan's turnover troubles would once again resurface, keeping the Wildcats at arms reach. The Hammers were able to hold the advantage through to the end of the first half up 27-20. But Crowell would take the lead halfway through the 3rd quarter after another slew of Hammer errors. But Rotan would work through those mistakes and dig in to eventually overcome an 11 point deficit; taking the lead back from the Wildcats after some late game heroics on both sides of the ball. Rotan would ultimately seal the deal with a fumble recovery and punch one more score in during the closing minutes to finish on top 59-44.
The Hammers improve to 2-2, and will host the Bronte Longhorns this Friday for their final match before district play.
