The March winds are with us. We all need to PRAY FOR RAIN, we need it badly. It seems we are always praying for rain. I feel sorry for the states that had all of the floods and lost every thing. If there was just some way we could divide all that water, and everyone would be happy.

Under His wing I am will protected No harm can befall me. As difficult days come and go I take comfort knowing my Lord watches over me. I lift this poem in praise to God. It was by His grace we all survived this blizzard. Thank God for His Angel on Earth.

The date was February 28, 1836. Texas settlers were engaged in revolt against Mexico, engaging in several battles with government forces over the previous five months. Around 185 men, led by William B. Travis and James Bowie, were under siege at a mission in San Antonio called the Alamo.

There’s not much hoopla, no organized statewide celebration but March 2nd 1836 is an important day in the history of Texas. That’s the day Texas became a republic and declared its independence from Mexico. It was a long time coming.
