When the Palace Theater in Spur closed in the 1970s it ended up belonging to the chamber of commerce, which offered to sell it to the county historical commission for ten dollars. The commission accepted the offer.

If you missed the talent show Friday night you missed a good time. As usual Nathan and his crew outdid themselves once again and had a wonderful time and a wonderful show. So many of the performers were kin to some of the residents as daughters, grand daughters, grand sons, and they all had a ball.
