As the deadline for registering to vote in this year’s election approaches, I wanted to share a few words about elections, the two-party system, a few historical fun facts, and why — even though you may not believe so — your vote matters.

The Double Mountain Chronicle welcomes Letters to the Editor for possible publication in the newspaper. A Letter to the Editor must be original, signed by the writer, and include the address and phone number of the writer. Only the name of the writer and the city will be published with the letter.

I often find myself marveling at the world we live in today, and thanks to the rapidly evolving technological landscape around us, I would argue we are the most connected humans in evolutionary history. Or, perhaps better stated, I would argue we have the tools to be the most connected humans.
