The Lady Hornets put up a good fight on Saturday against the Buena Vista Longhorns but went down swinging. Aspermont lost the Area Championship game in 4 close sets. The Longhorns are a well rounded team and played an exceptional game. The Lady Hornets just came up a little short.

After the Lady Lions finished in third place at regionals, it was time to head to Round Rock for the UIL Cross Country State Meet last week, where the team finished fourth overall. The team arrived on Thursday for a little rest and relaxation prior to the meet.

Hammers top Hornets 53-8

The Yellowhammers traveled to Aspermont last Friday Night and came out on top 53-8, walking away with their first district victory since 2014. The Yellowhammer defense set the tone early when Payton Carrillo picked off a Hornet pass with a 47-yard return for the first touchdown of the game.

Aspermont's Carson Guidry, Patricia Murguia, and Wesley Koenig qualified for the State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock by placing 8th, 14th, and 7th respectively.

Lady Lions Cross Country are state bound

With the cross country season coming to an end, the Lady Lions and individual runner for the Lions, Keegan Encizo, traveled to San Angelo for the Region II-1A Cross Country Meet. The Lady Lions were up first to the starting line.

ALL HEART! That was the only explanation for how 7 Lady Hornets could battle it out on the volleyball court Tuesday night. Those 7 players comprised the Lady Hornet Cross Country Team that ran Tuesday morning in the Regional XC meet in San Angelo, Texas.
