Cotton prices rally amid speculative buying

Cotton futures rose rapidly over recent weeks as speculators began buying for potentially big profits based on expectations that prices would go up, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.

The Fisher County Historical Commission had 12 attendees at their October 5th meeting in Roby. Members would like to publicly thank the City of Roby for filling in the recently collapsed cistern at the museum, as well as Paul Hinton for air conditioning repair.

As we acknowledge World Sight Day this October 14th, the theme is “Love Your Eyes.” Eye health impacts education, employment, quality of life, poverty and so many other Sustainable Development Goals. Local Lions Clubs have been busy screening vision at our Fisher County schools.

The Fisher County Sheriff’s Department confirmed in a press release that counterfeit bills were discovered after one was passed at a local convenience store last week.
