Fire Danger across Double Mountains

With firefighters in Fisher and Stonewall counties tackling numerous fires in this week alone, even with occasional rainfall and cooler temperatures, fire danger continues to rise in Texas as the Southern Geographic Area Coordination Center moves from a preparedness level of three to level one.

The Aspermont ISD DCX Debate teams returned from state competitions, where both teams advanced through the second day’s round of finals, and Jessi Rabel and Leah Salazar finished in the top five individual speakers.

Rotan ISD approves 4 ½ day school

School will function work a little different for Rotan ISD students next year, as this week the board approved the 2022-23 calendar, where classes will be held Monday through Thursday and a half-day on Fridays.

Roby CISD Board tours new facility, approves administrative contracts

In a meeting where the board spent almost twice as long behind closed doors as they did in open session on Monday, trustees were updated on the construction progress before discussing administrative contract renewals.
